Description:
Trending Topics is designed to track the views of each thread over a set time period. The views are then queried and tallied when the views occurred within the admin configurable number of days. Sorted by number of views, the thread subjects and recent views count are output to a table. Via the settings the plugin can be configured to make the trending topics available on the index and/or portal pages.
There is also an option to output the trending topics to the search results page when no results are returned. This runs off the error() function and appends the trending table to the no results message.
The search feature may help with page views when a user searches "get new" and there are no results but with the trending topics output, users can see threads of potential interest.

b) Modification: You may modify, in whole or part, Community Plugins products without Community Plugins's permission.
c) Redistribution and Reproduction: You may not reproduce and/or distribute, in whole or part, any copies of Community Plugins products without expressly written permission from Community Plugins.
2. OTHER RIGHTS OR LIMITATIONS
a) Limitations on Installing: You can't install Community Plugins products on servers that allow users without a licence to obtain the products illegally.
b) Limitations on Modifying: Modifying Community Plugins products, in whole or part, does not give you any additional rights and therefore you are still under agreement with this EULA.
c) Separation of Components: Community Plugins products are licenced as a single product. Its components may not be separated for use anywhere else.
d) Termination: Community Plugins may terminate this EULA for any reason. If such an event occurs, all copies of the Community Plugins product must be removed from your server.
e) Refunds: No Refund is given if the product is proved to function correctly after five (5) days.
3. LIMITED AWARRANTY
THIS SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED BY THE COPYRIGHT HOLDERS AND CONTRIBUTORS AS-IS AND ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE DISCLAIMED.

I am trying to get this to show on my forum index but so far I can't get it to show. I have renamed my index to forums.php and it is heavily modified. What is the variable I need to put in my index template to get this to show? The trending topics table is populated and it does show on the default template search results if there are no results.
